This policy explains what information Coupon Adventures ("we," "us") collects when you use couponadventures.com and the Coupon Adventures app, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
From everyone who creates an account:
- Your name and email address, and whether your email is verified.
- If you sign in with a password, a securely scrambled version of it (never the password itself).
- If you sign in with Apple, Google, or X, an account ID and sign-in tokens from that service.
- Sign-in session details: the date your session expires, your IP address, and your browser type.
- Offers you save and offers you redeem (which offer, which business, the redemption code, and the date and time).
From merchants who list a business:
- Business details you choose to publish: name, phone, hours, description, address, map location, and photos.
- Offers you create: title, description, fine print, photo, and end date.
- Subscription details: your plan and its status, your Stripe customer and subscription IDs, and your card's brand, last 4 digits, and expiration date. We never see or store your full card number.
We also count how many times each offer is viewed. These counts are totals and are not tied to you.
Location: if you tap "Use my location" on the map, your browser shares your approximate location with the site so we can center the map and sort nearby businesses. It is used only for that search, stays on your device, and is not stored.
2. How we use your information
- To run your account and keep you signed in.
- To show listings and offers, save your favorites, and track redemptions.
- To process merchant subscriptions and send billing-related notices.
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and misuse of offers.
- To answer your questions and improve Coupon Adventures.
3. Who we share information with
We share information only with the services that help us run Coupon Adventures:
- Stripe, which processes merchant payments. You enter card details directly on Stripe's secure page.
- Apple, Google, and X, if you choose to sign in with them. Google and X sign-in pass through our hosting provider's sign-in service.
- Cloudinary, which stores business and offer photos.
- The U.S. Census Bureau's address lookup, which receives a merchant's street, city, state, and ZIP to place the business on the map.
- Google Fonts and OpenStreetMap, which receive your IP address when a page or map loads.
- Our hosting provider, which runs the site.
We may also share information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or Coupon Adventures.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
4. Cookies
We use secure cookies only to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
5. How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we'll delete your personal information, except records we must keep for legal, tax, or billing reasons.
6. Your choices and rights
You can update your business details anytime from your dashboard. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing ca@couponadventures.com. If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. We'll verify your request before acting on it.
7. Children
Coupon Adventures is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
8. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections and secure sign-in cookies. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll change the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll notify merchants by email.
